About Us
The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Lane County is a grass-roots advocacy group that supports suicide prevention initiatives in Lane County in cooperation with the Suicide Prevention Program at Lane County Public Health.
Our Mission
We are a network of likeminded Lane County residents dedicated to providing education, awareness, and advocacy for suicide prevention. We strive to create an open space for community connection by making suicide an approachable topic and elevating the voices of those impacted by suicide.
Our Objectives:
- Identify and address gaps in the continuity of care for people at risk of suicide in Lane County
- Provide and promote opportunities suicide prevention and mental health education for the public and professionals
- Assist in implementing public awareness campaigns related to mental health promotion, stigma reduction, and suicide prevention
- Assist Lane County schools in their suicide prevention and mental health promotion efforts in accordance with SB 52 (Adi’s Act)
- Advocate for mental health promotion & suicide prevention services, supports, and resources in accordance with the Mental Health & Addictions Plan and the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)
